Martha Stewarts Achievements

Martha Stewart didn’t grow up living a life of luxury, she grew up in New Jersey with four brothers and sisters. Her parents taught her to cook, sew and garden at a very young age.

She received a partial scholarship to Barnard College in New York City. She began to work as a model to pay for the expenses. She majored in Art, European History, and Architectural History. Fresh out of College she married Andrew Stewart, a law student. She went on with her modeling career, she was seen in commercials for; Breck, Clairol, Lifebuoy Soap, and Tareyton Cigarettes.





After she stopped modeling due to the birth of her daughter, she began a career as a stockbroker. She quit when a recession occurred in 1973 she quit, and her and her husband decided to restore an 1805 farmhouse. She began a catering business in the basement of her farmhouse, ten years later it became a million dollar enterprise. She then opened a retail store



Martha Stewart also wrote for the New York Times. And was editor and columnist for House Beautiful. She began producing, and was very successful doing that. She signed an advertising and consulting contract for KMART for $5 million. She began her TV show called Martha Stewart Living. She provided products for many different areas. She had branches in publishing, television, merchandising, and internet/direct commerce.
